From CNN:

Quote:
Deadly bombings strike Algerian train station

ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) -- Two bombs in quick succession rocked a train station in Algeria on Sunday, killing several people, including a French engineer and Algerian firefighters and soldiers who responded to the first blast, a security official said.

The security official said 13 people died, but French media are reporting that 12 have been killed.

The first bomb killed a Frenchman working on a renovation project at the station in Beni Amrane, about 60 miles east of the capital, the security official said. The second bomb hit minutes later, as security officials and rescue workers arrived at the scene. Both devices appeared to be remote-controlled.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Algeria's al-Qaeda affiliate, al-Qaeda in Islamic North Africa, is known to be active in the area.

Story Highlights
- At least 12 killed in two remote triggered bombings at train station east of capital
- Official: First bomb killed two, including French citizen renovating station rails
- Second bomb timed to explode as rescue workers arrived at scene, official says

I didn't know that "al-Qaeda" had regional affiliates? Imagine that - I wonder where they hold their annual convention? I was reading on POD earlier today the comparison Yada did between Muhammad and Hitler. It's entitled, "Mein Kampf." In it, Yada states:

Quote:
Muhammad had a rougher time controlling the media than today's terrorists do. Now Muslims just lie, and the press laps it up. There aren't five journalists in the Free World with the will and wisdom to expose Islam.

Yes, AQ does have affiliates and they are operating all over the world. In Southeast Asia they are found in various factions fighting for Islamic independence in non-Muslim countries and also in Indonesia which is the world's most populous Muslim nation. Because the governments in SEA have a policy of non-interference and a deference for each other's religious and political leanings, the media stays away from reporting anything that may embarrass a neighbour, even if it is clear that the activities on the neighbour's soil is the source of problems in their nation. Sure a protest is made now and then over some matters to ensure sovereignty is not overly encroached, but by and large the key motto is to observe political correctness, even if you see people dying as in the case of Myanmar. No country in the region will disrespect religion, especially Islam, for everyone here knows that religion is for peace.
The reverence of Yahweh is the beginning of Wisdom.
