Has anyone translated this combination of letters? From right to left, אנשי, an aleph, nun, shin and yowd. The logos exegitical guide shows it as ,'ysh, man. Qbible shows it as 'enowsh and 'ysh at the same time. The verses I'm translating is Yahowsha` / Joshua 7:4 and 5 show aleph, nun, shin, and yowd. In chapters 2 and 6 of Yahowsha` that I have translated 'ysh, איש, aleph, yowd, and shin is used, and aleph, nun, shin, yowd, and mem, אנשים, are used. There has to be a reason for the change, I have not been able to figure it out.Until I do I won't post these chapters. Thanks for any help.

I think that the clue is in Joshua 7:1. Pardon the KJV:

Jos 7:1 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of Yahowh was kindled against the children of Israel.

Yahowah wasn’t with them when they decided to go into battle, so they were just walking dead men.

I’ll guess that it is based on H605 / H606. The “Yod” at the end means “my” . So maybe “my mortal man” or “my incurable, walking-dead man”. The “Yod-Mem” at the end would make it a masculine plural noun.

Yes the yowd-mem makes it plural. I figured this word out and ended up translating it as "mortal men." Being that only about 36 men were killed, I think this was a learning and warning lesson by Yahowah. Thanks Mike. Sometimes I have so much going through my head when translating I miss something simple.
