I asked Yada why and who he thought were behind the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Below is his response:

Quote:
Musharaff answered the question as to why Benazir Bhutto was murdered. He said that fundamentalist (which he called “conservative (meaning fundamentalist) and hyper (as in zealous, strict, and fully committed)”) Muslims killed her. He also said that “conservative and hyper” (read “fundamentalist”) Islam was not only immoral, violent, terrorist, and totally hypocritical, it was the enemy of Pakistan and the world, and that if we didn’t wake up soon, they would destroy everything. While I’m no fan of Musharaff, he was right on all accounts. You can read his comments online, in that they are all included in his brief public statement on her death.

Sadly, America caused this mess when it forced Bhutto (a twice failed, and very corrupt and incompetent leader) onto Pakistan. It was more of Bush bungling. The end result will be a fundamentalist Islamic revolution in a nation with nuclear weapons. This mess was created when we stupidly pushed al Qaeda and the Taliban out of Afghanistan and into Pakistan. It was further exacerbated when Bush called Pakistan our ally against terrorism, and started transferring 5 billion annually in military aid, even though Pakistan is the world’s foremost sponsor of Islamic terrorists—including those who struck on 9-11.

We will get in Pakistan what America caused in Iraq and Afghanistan—an Islamic government. And the world will be more dangerous for it. There is a reason Yahweh said: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowing and knowledge.”

The following is Musharraf's brief statement from BruneiNews.net You can find the article here.

Musharraf vows to find assassin leaders

Thursday 27th December, 2007

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf declared a three-day official mourning following the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and resolved not to rest till the terrorists were 'liquidated'.

'The terrorists are the biggest obstacles to our progress,' he said on national television hours after Bhutto was killed Thursday evening.

'Today, in this hour of grief, I request my people to support me in my resolve to liquidate terrorists from their roots,' Musharraf said in a brief statement, while appealing for peace and calm in the country.

Musharraf convened an emergency meeting of top government officials to review the situation after the assassination.

It's no coincidence that there is so much turmoil in Pakistan. As the only known Islamic country with a nuclear arsenal and the Taliban and al Qaeda working hard in that country, it is only a matter of time before it is a fundamentalist Islamic state as Yada stated. This was another wake up call, but sadly no one will pay attention or see it for what it is. Musharaff is a war lord, not that much unlike Saddam. Like Saddam, his rulership is threatened by fundamentalist Muslims who want the country to be an islamic state. If they succeed, his rule will be over. Bush got into bed with him, because he thinks the enemy of our enemy is our friend. It is a pattern that is repeated over and over again throughout our history. As Yada stated, we continue to build up the Pakistani military that will one day be in fundamentalist Islamic hands and we will pay a heavy price.

Mushareff aided and abetted the assassination by disallowing a cordon of security for Bhutto. It was only a matter of time before she was killed. My guess is that we will redouble our support for the strongman Mushareff out of fear of the Islamics.

I think she was naive, especially during this interview

Maybe she spent too much time over seas in western nations and forgot how Muslims really are?

Well NS , naive may be one way of putting it however I think that she being a somewhat socialist politicain and having spent alot of time in the west where she was adored by the PC crowd thought that making statements like this were going to get those bad men (who were to get her) to think. She way underestimated what religion is all about......money and power!
