Any interest in a Facebook group?

Just wondering if visibility to a "Yada Yahweh" facebook group might steer a few more people here?
Easy and cheap publicity? |

That could work. I go to Christianforums.com and had the yadayaweh link as my sig until someone took it down.. I put it back but I don't think anyone's went there yet.
It's not the most popular link at the Christian forum.

If that happens then I vote Rob (though he disabled his account for the time being) for FB group creator, or RidesWithYah since he is keen FB user ;) or anybody else who would like to volunteer. I think it's great to put faces to forum members and I already have a number of them on my FB friends list, such as Swalchy, Juski, Truth B-Told, RidesWithYah, Godfrey, Ben, etc...

That would be great. Ever since Yada, Ken and Yowel took down BlogTalkRadio, I've just been twindling my thumbs. I think however that there might already be a YY forum on facebook or at least last time I checked.
Oh and my username on BlogTalkRadio was BloodBath if anybody remembers me.

Yada Yahweh Facebook GroupHearing no objections, I filled out the basics and created the group. I selected "beliefs and causes" rather than "religion and spirituality", lol. Membership is "closed", meaning you have to be approved, but just shoot me an invite and I'll be happy to approve quick as I can. Please let me know if you see anything that needs changed or fixed. I'm NOT intending this to take the place of the forums; more just a way for us to get connected personally -OR- steer our friends and family to yadayahweh.com or forum.yadayahweh.com. (I see SO many of my friends promoting their churches this way...) |

Changed group type to "open".
It's the only way to make content viewable to the public,
and that is the point, right? lol.
Let me know if you think that's a mistake. |

Hmmmm... I've only just activated my FB account (after much delay and deliberation) but I do not think I want to join a group that is open. Personally, I think it is not in our interests to expose ourselves at this moment, especially if one resides in a potentially dangerous location. Thanks, RWY and CGB2, but not now. |

RidesWithYah, why not set the group to invite for the mean time? I think bit's suggestion is good. We're too controversial when it comes to all things Islam and Humanism and don't need to create unwanted scenarios.

I see three options, "open", "closed", or "secret". With secret, no one knows we exist, lol. Is the consensus for "closed"? Quote:This group is closed.
Admins must approve requests for new members to join. Anyone can see the group description, but only members can see the Wall, discussion board, and photos. Whatever we decide, I think it needs to be permanent. Wouldn't be prudent to "open" a group that people joined when "closed" -- outing them and putting them at risk. Other opinions before I make the switch to closed? If we do go "closed", I'll need a couple more volunteers to be administrators, and help with approving invites. (And we'll ask the invites to include somewhere in the message the name by which you're known on the YY forum so we recognize you.) |

I'm kinda guessing those that joined are already forum members, and with so few members already I don't think someone will object. I like it to be open, but then I again I like it to be closed as well ;)
I don't mind being invited to be an admin on the FB page.

I "closed" the Facebook group for now, therefore if anyone wants to join please click the invite tab on the FB group. The group name is Yada Yahweh as Yada News is already taken, and strangely taken by my cousin who is not associated in any way to this forum or Yada Yahweh.
