From CNN:

Out-of-wedlock births hit record high

Along with magazine-cover grabbers like Angelina Jolie and Bristol Palin, Kim Hoffman is part of a trend of women who give birth outside of wedlock. Nearly 40 percent of babies born in the U.S. in 2007 were delivered by unwed mothers, according to recently released data. The statistics raise concerns for Sarah Brown, CEO of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. full story

If the act that caused the baby to be concieved also makes them "married," then there is not a moral or spiritual issue here. The problem with this is that not being married, it is really easy for them to split and thus cause irrepairable harm to the children. And yet, because divorce is so easy to get (you just have to ask and don't need any reason) what is the difference?

Sad but True

I do think however that it is better for society for children to be born in to a married family.
Don't take my word for it, Look it up.
