Here is a quote of Yada's on the POD thread in response to a student from Norway who's writing a thesis on terrorism and Al-Aqeada and wants to know where he can get the most reliable information on the subject. Yada wrote:If you want to understand why all good Muslims are terrorists read Prophet of Doom. It is the best documented, most reliable, most comprehensive, contextual, and chronological presentation of the oldest Islamic sources. After reading it, you will understand the motivations of Islamic organizations like al Qaeda. But, what you learn will not be popular. The last sentence caught me and got me asking why does man hate the truth so much? Some people hate the truth and they don't even know why they hate the truth. Take for example the current adverts displayed on buses in the UK: BTW: it says "THERE'S PROBABLY NO GOD. SO STOP WORRYING AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE" So far one Christian bus driver has refused to drive the buses because of the advert ( read article here). Good on him, may Yah bless him. Unfortunately which Catholicism and Islam on the rise I can understand why people hate religion so much but when it comes to simple things like we (not including Islam) believe in a society made up of healthy families, tougher laws on abortion, tougher laws on homosexuals, tougher laws on the porn industry, etc. man gets so uptight about it. As if man wants to wallow in his own mud, and then complains later about why his own wife has been cheating on him. Man encourages the poor society he lives in, and then turns around and blames someone else for his own mess, and then continues to encourage "sinful" behaviour. Man is surely heading downhill! EDIT: Let me quickly add a relevant quote from YY - Book III - Going Astray - Shama chapter: Quote:There is nothing evil hates more than being exposed, which is why Yahuweh, the creator of the world’s first free press - His Scriptures - does the job journalists once did. He exposes wrongdoing and explains the consequence.

"There is probably no God. So stop worrying and enjoy your life" makes no sense to me. The existence of God is the only basis we have for standards of morality and behavior. If there is no God in the popular imagination, life devolves into chaos, where everyone persues only his or her own short term goals for pleasure and profit. Civilization becomes decidedly uncivil. To me the only bus ad that makes sense would read: "God exists. So stop worrying about yourself and start enjoying your life."

personally I just think they have not thought this campaign through - I mean people who were going about their lives - not thinking about God are now made to think about him. Everyone takes a side with a statement, I think this campaign will end up with more people asking questions and coming to a decision for God... the other option is to stay the same...
So in making the statement, and even including "probably" makes people re-evaluate their beliefs...
to be frank - it was a stupid idea from their point of view... |

One of my good friends is an atheist through and through. He hates these adds. As far as he's concerned people's beliefs are people's beliefs and they just leave well enough alone. |
Someone who does not dearly love or welcome, entertain, look fondly upon or cherish people with strong affection or highly esteem them with great favour, goodwill or benevolence, be loyal to or greatly adore them has not known or understood, perceived or realized, noticed or discerned, discovered or observed, experienced or ascertained, learned about or distinguished, comprehended, acknowledged or recognized God*, for concerning this, God* is and exists as brotherly love and affection, good will, esteem and benevolence. |

Oops, my mistake, the signs actually say "THERE'S PROBABLY NO GOD. NOW (not the word "so") STOP WORRYING AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE" Same thing really.
KP's take on it is brilliant, it takes the whole selfish thing out of it, because then man would have a better society which would obviously mean a better life.

The question Does God have a role in role in the world today? was asked on the BBC News website today to the general public in response to the Archbishop of Canterbury who warned that God will not intervene to prevent humanity from wreaking disastrous damage to the environment. So far I can only find one post from a person telling them to relate news headlines today to the Bible already predicting these things long ago. Obviously the posts with the highest votes all whine the same things "that there is no God." I've been reading quite a bit on humanism lately, and it's doing my head in.
