I would very much like to find a book that gives a good `history` of Scripture. When the books were written (and by whom), their historical context, how they were preserved and distributed, where the various manuscripts reside now, etc.?

Can anyone suggest something?

Shalom,

I think Swalchy would have the resources to answer this best but here's a link for a brief history: http://www.greatsite.com...-bible-history/#timeline

I know on YY Radio Yada recommended the book The Bible in Translation, but that was more for the history of it's translation, not so much a history of the books.
Don't take my word for it, Look it up.
