Excellent post!!!
I often wonder if Isaiah 65 isn't a prophecy relating to christianity?
Particularly verses 2-7.
I spread out My hands all day long
to a rebellious people
who walk in the wrong path,
following their own thoughts.

3 These people continually provoke Me
to My face,
sacrificing in gardens,
burning incense on bricks,

4 sitting among the graves,
spending nights in secret places,
eating swine's flesh,
and putting polluted broth in their bowls.

5 They say: Keep to yourself,
don't come near me, for I am too holy for you!
These practices are smoke in My nostrils,
a fire that burns all day long.

6 It is written before Me:
I will not keep silent, but I will repay;
I will repay them fully

7 [for] your iniquities and the iniquities
of your fathers together,"
says the LORD.
"Because they burned incense on the mountains
and reproached Me on the hills,
I will reward them fully
for their former deeds."

I think that the pagan feasts have been going on for a very long time and Constantine incorporated them into what we now call "christianity". From Ishtar to the "venerable day of the sun",and saturnalia they are all pagan festivals renamed.

Welcome Truth Seeker,

Great first post that you have above. Once you know it, it is time to walk away from such festivals, and I'm sure that you would do so if you you fully realise what has been amplified above. In the USA, there are few festivals compared to the Far East with its range of religions that have blended into the customs. Sometimes one does not really know what is being practiced -- whether it is a simple cultural festival in remembrance of a great hero or worship of a deity -- and keeping away from such festivals really makes one stand out like a party-pooper, or conversely, a beacon of light that draws more interest from the others around you. I have experienced both and am not bothered for not observing man-made feasts, nor am I elevated when enquired about observing what is commanded of us. Truth stands on its own, and is no respecter of persons. That said, Swalchy makes it very, very clear to all who read these amplified passages above that our Creator will do what He says, so the choice is up to us. Believe, and obey.
The reverence of Yahweh is the beginning of Wisdom.

I agree. We no longer celebrate any of the pagan festivals. If the festival isn't commanded in the O.T. we don't celebrate them.
The christian celebrations are all pagan counterfeits as far as I'm concerned.

Just a quick thought to add to the 2008 schedule of holidays...

On my calendar at work "Easter" or often called resurrection Sunday happens to be before Passover...does anyone find this strange that the coming Messiyah is going to be resurrected before he is crucified??

I love Yah and love the fact that even in our stupid human mindset that he can still not only outsmart us but make us look really dumb.
