Shalowm all!
I thought I'd start a new topic where we can share things we've written regarding our experiences with Yah and his towrah that might be helpful (like letters to family and friends) or enjoyable (poetry and songs, etc.) to others in Yahowah's family.

I initially wrote this poem after the Shabat show on May 9th 2020. I'm in construction in California and it was the end of the first week we were allowed back at work. I was extremely angry and frustrated with the rampant thoughless compliance and absurd attitude of almost everyone I encountered.
If you've read it before, please note that I revised it today for meter and content so you might like a re-read. I like it much better now.
If anyone is inclined to put it to music, I'd love to hear!
Good natured constructive criticism is always welcome but I think this may be the final iteration.

The Fallout of Flight

Humankind has collectively lost its goddamn mind
Carelessly arrogant, capricious and confused
We neglected to teach our children well
We ignored Yahowah’s careful instructions
And we ran from the cognitive dissonance

We indulged ourselves with their obedience
Without explanation, evidence or reason
And taught no care for logic
We destroyed their ability to think free and create
On the run from cognitive dissonance

We indulged our lack with their appeasement
Offering gifts, bribes and behaviors unearned
But gave only broken tools for living
We destroyed their ability to produce and create.
On the run from cognitive dissonance

We voted for religion and state to teach them
So easy to let others fill their minds with lies
Serfdom training, memorize and obey
We destroyed their ability to innovate and create
On the run from cognitive dissonance

We indulged our comfort and spoiled our children
We forgot love has edges like truth and choice
It knows what to hate and what to protect
We gave only broken and twisted tools for loving
On the run from cognitive dissonance

As they demand everyone love everyone else,
They scream the world upside down
Good judgment is the new evil
Ideas are the new violence
((You can only be free if you think like me))
Opposite-land is the new normal
On the run from cognitive dissonance

Superficial lives load in digital clouds
Windows to exponential information
Distract and confuse those with broken tools
((Knowledge and facts are relative you see))
Can't separate truth from a mire of confusion
On the run from cognitive dissonance

Dark morbid games are played with many lives
Most don't hesitate or even think twice
Eagerly fed orchestrated shiny media bytes
((Your government will save you, it wouldn’t lie))
They cry from the windows "You must protect and save us all!"
On the run from cognitive dissonance

Put yourself in prison so you can keep your freedom
Not grasping the oxymoron, become a moron with no oxygen
Grasping for other's liberty and means
((Lives will be destroyed if you do not comply))
Demanding irrational ignorance of evidence and reason
On the run from cognitive dissonance

Never satisfied, abandoned responsibility
Paralyzing panic at the concept of mortality
Obedience kills freedom in the minds of humankind
Submission is a virus that infects our very souls
But humankind will find destruction at the end
Of the run from cognitive dissonance

In our complicit obedience
We destroyed our ability to be free and create

In our indulgent neglect
We destroyed the hearts and minds of our children

In panicked fear for our lives
We destroyed our economic production

In apathetic lack of understanding
We have destroyed our world

In ignorance of Yahowah’s Towrah
We have lost sight of everything that matters

Humankind has collectively lost its goddamn mind
On the run from cognitive dissonance

Thanks for sharing! "We forgot love has edges like truth and choice". So good!

Sheryl Stratman

PS My family left California (Santa Barbara) in August and now in Eastern TN. A little more freedom here but the sadly the bible belt is alive and well. We are enjoying far less taxes and lot's of green grass, trees and water.

Alright Mow, here goes.
I rewrote the lyrics to This Land Is Mine
♫♪♪♫♫♪♫♪♪♫♫♪♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♫♪♫♫♪♫♪♪♫

This land is mine
Yah gave this land to me
This brave and ancient land to me

And when the morning sun
Reveals her hills and plains
Then I see a land
Where children can run free

So take Yah's hand
And walk this land with me
And walk this lovely land with me

And when Yahowah returns
With his son Dowd by his side
Yah will lift us up
So we can be free

So take Yah's hand
And find the way like me
And walk this narrow path and see

And when Yahowah returns
With his son Dowd by his side
Yahowah lifts us up
And we will be free

@Sheraldo
Thank you, so many people don't get that and think love is a doormat! Oh towbyness, you make Tennesse sound lovely. Less taxes would be nice. Mebbe I could afford to work online then! I'm in politically correct hell right now so take your pick of mental illness lol (Confusion belt/Left coast - meh). Can't really beat the weather here tho... when it's not burning Blink

@McTele - I love it! I'm going to print it and sing it to myself at the beginning of the show. Love

Shalowm family,

As it 'tis that season (that I abhor- which I find somewhat ironic as we approach the deep cold of winter; Yah's feast timing is so much more edifying), a friend was subjected to the repeated playing of songs she felt the need to mentally adjust the verbiage of. I got such a belly laugh from her renditions that I decided to try my hand at it. I hope you enjoy the following and please feel free to sing it at full voice in public, share online, etc. Perhaps you may enjoy making up a few verses yourself! I'd love to see what we come up with.

Silent Night, Confused Life

Silent night, confused life
You may think all is right
But you're wrong, in death you partake
Joining in with the whore's dark fate
Nothing but sparkly desolate bait
Nothing but desolate bait

Silent night, confused life
Big phallus tree with balls to excite
Vagina wreaths on doors everywhere
Flashing lights mesmerize every bairn
Killing your children with sweet candy lies
Killing your children with lies

Silent night, confused life
All is tawdry, all is rife
with yon bribery, a counterfeit feast
All for Asherah's church of the Beast
Sleep in blinding iniquitous death
Sleep in iniquitous death

So I heretofore throw their tree back at them like a spear! HuAGH! Into the compost! Where their revered symbol becomes organic fertilizer in a permaculture garden ('course you've gotta take all the plastic crap and sparkly bits (poison really) off of it first). The mercury balls so many trees have been decorated with for so many recent decades just kill me - the ironic symbolism circling about that metaphor is just so germane... (mercury (a false god's name) is a poisonous neurotoxin - it coats the inside of glass balls which represent male testes - poisoned sperm - infertility - stillborn children, etc.).
I doubt a single participant realizes and it's their metaphor. Blink

Shall we pull some covers and have a bit of a slam? Whatcha got?

Shalowm Mishpacha!
I did a re-write of the lyrics to Imagine by Mr. Lennon.
I love the music and format of the song but was never a fan of the lyrics.

Imagine a Thousand Years

Imagine there's no evil
It's easy if you try
No controlling people
Just instructions to thrive by
Imagine all the people
Living in free will

Imagine no religion
It isn't hard to do
No lies to die for
And no militaries too
Imagine all the people
Living life with Yah... You...

You may say Dowd's a dreamer
But he's Yahowah's favorite son
Very soon he will join us
And Yahowah's land will be won

Imagine no politicians
I wonder if you can
No love for thieves or slavery
Dowd will be king in the land
Imagine all the planet
Growing like Eden... You...

You may say Dowd's a dreamer
But he's Yahowah's favorite son
Very soon he will join us
And Yah's family will be one

~Mowriyah

P.S. Please let me know if there are any other tunes you'd like a re-write of. This is fun! BigGrin

Greetings Yahowdah and Ysrael (including the adopted)!

I've made an attempt to convert one of Dowd's Mashal/Proverbs as translated by Yada* into something that might be fun to sing. Let me know if you think I've gotten any of the concepts wrong or missed anything important. I think there may be a few places where the meter/syllable count could use a little tweaking but another set of eyes would be helpful. If you put it to a singable tune, I'd love to hear it!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and I think it'd be fun to sing on Taruwah.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Son, My Son
From Mashal 6:1-5
Did you fall asleep in apathy?
Did you flirt with the flashing light?
My son, My son
Did you promise?
Did you pledge?
Did you join to be accepted?
Did you ally with your foe?
Did you shake their hand?
Did you pitch your tent with them?
Have you blown your trumpet for
Your immoral countrymen?
The vexing illegitimate
Loudmouthed and wicked
Evil public speakers
Have you bound your life to them?
My son, My son
Did you promise?
Did you pledge?
Did you join to be accepted?
Did you ally with your foe?
Then you are but a stranger
Rejected for your error
Hostile and opposed
To the help of My Hand
As you beguile others
Into giving up their freedom
You entrap yourself
With the words of your own mouth
If you’ve ever made that awful pledge
Get your manners out and get a little bit dirty
With astonishing courage and reason
Admonish all the liars, politicians and the clergy
Decide to engage
And tear yourself away
From the vows that will abuse you
Don't fall to sleep in apathy
Don't bat your eyes at the flashing light
Run like the gazelle, fly like the songbird
Liberate yourself from the trapper's snare!
My son, My son,
Of your own free will
Do not promise
Do not pledge
Don't join to be accepted
Do not ally with your foe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please feel free to share if you are so inclined.
And again, any and all good-natured thoughtful criticism is welcome and desired.

Thank you and shalowm,
~Mow

New to the forum. Doesn't look very active. Not a surprise. From my
perspective the narrow path is single file. The chorus of my song
pops into my head after I attempt a conversation with others about
what is important...

"Just Listen"

There's nothing you can do
There's nothing you can say

There's nothing you can say or do

They'ed rather worship lies
They'ed rather worship fear

There's nothing you can say or do

They all mock the truth
They all mock your love

There's nothing you can say or do

They will never change
They will never think

No matter what you say or do

So just Listen
Just Listen

Welcome LoYada,

Thank you for posting and participating! The roaring din of crickets is a frequent occurrence around here lol. There's not a lot of us anymore and not as many questions I think. The place gets looked in on from time to time though. So many people have dropped off along this journey of discovery we've been on. And yes, we truly walk throught the Pesach door one at at time!

Nice song, quite singable and sadly, I can identify.
You gave yourself a name I find curious though - "LoYada" - as it seems that perhaps you do understand?
Care to elaborate for the sake of conversation?

Thank You Mowriyah7!

Every time I think I "get it" (knowing/understanding), I find that there
is more! I am convinced I will never "get it" and will always be "getting
it". YHWH is infinite, therefore I conclude so is understanding and knowing.
This excites me and drives my desire for more!
