One of our forum members, James, has done a "Scripture-Only" version of YY for us. Basically, he has taken out each and every verse ever amplified in the YY book, and stuck them together and in order.

Isn't that grand?!

A big THANK YOU to James for doing this - for which he shall be attaching here shortly :)

Thanks for the thread Swalch.

I'm attaching a .rar file, with a separate PDF for each book. I apologizes for any errors there may be in it, I have noticed a few and attempted to correct them, but there are probably more.

YY Scripture part 2.rar (560kb) downloaded 127 time(s).

I've attempted the same project as a Word doceument. There were a few repetions with variations. I also detetced a few divisions or numbering of verses that differed from popular acounting. Hopefully if these are posted they can edited without much difficulty.

Swalchy it is telling me that my file is too big. It is 3.43. MB do you know what the max file size is, so I can break them in to smaller rars?

I noticed the verses that where repeated, but translated slightly differently, Yada told me that in those cases I should use the newest translations. As for the verses being off, yeah Yada got off on his numbering a few times. I have tried to correct that as well.

Never mind it seems 1 MB is the max. I broke it into 8 files.

Anyone who is interested, I have been working on filling in the verses that Yada hasn't translated. I have the first 11 Chapters of Genesis done. I'm attaching it here. again it is in rar, since the forum won't let me just upload a PDF.

Wow, James, that was a lot of work. Thanks for making these .pdf files.

I was able to download the files OK.

BTW, I have Power Point slides of the creation account in Genesis based on Gerald Schroeder's book "The science of God" and the Hayeh, 'Owr, and Chay chapters of Yada Yahweh if anyone is interested. I sent it to Yada a year ago and I used it once as a presentation to a group of people at a "Bible" study. I had my laptop and a DLP projector when I made the presentation. The .ppt file is 7.7 MB and the .zip file is 7.3 MB. If anyone is interested, I could break it up into < 1MB files.

to open the .rar files, you will need winrar or another such application. you can download the 32-bit version of winrar here. If you have a 64-bit pc, you can download it here.

This is only a 40 or so day trial, it's $29.00 for the full version, but it worked fine for me, and I am just going to save the files after I open them, so I don't need the full version. If you don't trust the links I provided (which I understand) you can just go to www.downloads.com and find them there yourself.

I converted the .ppt file into 3 .pdf files and then converted them to 3 .zip files to get below 1MB per file.

How can I attach the .zip files?

My Browser is Internet Explorer. I see that I can right click on the file as it appears on the post and have the option to "save as" HTML document. Should I be able to save as Word or another format?

I'll experiment to see what happens.

Okay, looking again I had not "Save As" but "Save Target As." I selected this option and saved to a YY My Documents folder with the As HTML document as opposed to the other option "All Files". I'll try again.

James, I am attempting to attach the files. I checked the "Attach files to this post?" box. But how do I tell it which files to post? Up at the top of the "Post a Reply", I have icons for Quote, Code, Insert Image, Create Link and BB/ but nothing that says File Attachments. Maybe my rank isn't high enough (my rank is Member and yours is Ekklesia). I tried to drag and drop the files into the body of this message but that didn't work.

File Attachment(s):
In_the_beginning_Elohim_1pdf.zip (826kb) downloaded 109 time(s).

James, Never mind, It worked. I see how it works now. It doesn't ask for the attachment until I click "post" instead of just "preview". I have to make the other files smaller though they wouldn't attach.

Yeah, that's there because of my stupidity. You see Genesis was the first one I compiled, and when I did, I converted it to PDF, and stupidly deleted the word doc I created it in. So I had to find a program that would convert it back to word, so I could fix some of the formating, based on recommendations from a few people I showed it to. The converter really messed with the formating, so I had to go through and fix the editing, a time consuming process that took me a few days, and I was having computer issues at the time, so I was saving it as a separate file. So long story short, there are two versions of Genesis in the set, but are essentially the same, just slight formating differences. The one in the seperate zip/rar is where I have filled in the gaps.

Marcus, Exodus should be in there somewhere.

Well when I started doing it, Yada didn't have much of Malachi done, or more accurately he didn't have it posted, he has all of Malachi translated in the update of the Kippurym chapter. Anyways he kept saying he was going to post it, so I didn't bother with working on, and by the time he posted it, I was already getting going on my latest project, the Genesis translation, and I haven't gotten around to going back and pulling out the Malachi verses. I need to. I think i will do that as soon as I finish the chapter of Genesis that I'm on, so in other words tomorrow.

All right I have Malachi done. Yada left out 3 verses, I don't have time tonight, but will go and amplify them tomorrow, so we will have the entirety of Malachi done.

Also I will be posting regular updates for my Genesis translations. I finished chapter 12 today. I will probably upload a new version every 3 or 4 chapters.

Now your just teasing me / us James. That will be fantastic!!!

Earlier today I had a question asked about the apparently conflicting promises made to Abraham's sons in Genesis 16 and 17. I don't think that there is an irresolvable one, but it'll be good to have such an amplified rendering once the work gets that far.

I've filled in the three missing verses from Malachi. Rather than having two copies here, I deleted the old one, and uploaded the new one. So if you want to Download it, it is above.

Attached is a zipped .pdf file on the seven assemblies of revelation. Basically I took Yada’s God Damn Religion chapters and added maps and photos.

Edit#1: OK, that didn't work. Yow'el said that he increased the file attachment size but I got an error.

Edit#2: Trying one more time after splitting in half.

Edit#3: OK, that didn't work either. I'm giving up.

Okay, here is an update of my Genesis translations, I am currently through chapter 15.

Note, I deleted the old file, so this is the only one here. I'm trying to keep the amount of space that I use to a minimum.

James I'm going to buy logos over the next week or so and maybe I could help if that's ok. It seems you put the primary meanings(taking into account context) in bold and then the rest of the meaning in parenthesis. Do you think silver addition of logos would suffice? I want to get more involved in anything that might lead to people coming to know the Truth about Yahweh.

I'm doing this as much for myself as for others, it is giving me the opportunity to study every word of scripture, literally, so I would encourage anyone that wants to, to do it.

As for helping, if you want to check mine and find anything that i may have got wrong, or add insight that i may have missed I'm open to that.

If by help you mean divide it up and you translate some chapters or books and I do others. I want to translate all of it my self, so that I will have studied it, I'm even translating the verses Yada has already done, so that I can study them.

But it would be nice to have some one to help me though difficult verses. Someone who I could use as a sound board and who could offer alternatives to me.

As for the format, I decided to use Yada's formating style, because it makes it easier to use as a study tool. So I try to translate it accurately in the bold and then place the Hebrew and the amplified definition in the parenthesis. A fully amplified translation is a bit tricky to read.

As for the Silver edition, I use the Original Languages edition, which is cheaper and has less. Looking at the list there are a few things that OL has that Silver doesn't, but they are nothing I would worry about having. The OL is about $700 less than the Silver, and in my opinion most of the books that you get that aren't in the OL are not useful. It does come with several more interlinears, several history and culture books, which could be good, but not necessary for translating, more maps and photos which are nice but not necessary, a couple of extra ancient text, and the pronunciation tools which would be nice but not necessary. Other than that it comes with a bunch of things in "church" history, ministry teachings, sermon compilation, apologetics, devotionals, counseling, preaching and teaching, reviews, references and commentaries, and a lot more English translations.

So in other words Silver has a few extras, but in my opinion not worth the price difference over OL. So unless you have the money to spend, I would go with the OL, the OL was designed just for word study, whereas the other packages are designed mostly for Clergy and such.

Sounds good James. I'll get the OL edition today. Once I get the hang of it, I'll get back to you so I can help in whatever way works..

The OL comes with a beginning Hebrew book that is a pretty good way of learning the alphabet, and recognizing the letters, and such. I used to it and another beginning Hebrew book that I bought to get the basics down. The main things I got from them is how to pronounce the letters, and how to write them, as well as tenses and masculine vs feminine and plural singular. I don't care to much for them vocabulary wise, since they give you the most basic definition.

If you have any questions PM me and I'll see if I can help. When I first started I started by re translating verses Yada had done, so I would run the exegetical search on a verse, and then begin looking at each word and piecing a sentence together. There are about 5 or 6 books that I use regularly in logos, and then I would recommend getting The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible, the Abegg, Flint, Ulrich version. It puts the parts that differ with the MT in italics, so you can identify them. Also you can find some other good Lexicons in Hardback to supplement logos.

Also when dealing with Hebrew, don't just use the vowel pointing that are supplied, those are the ones chosen by the Masorites, look at the root letters and other words formed by them, and think which fits best in the context, and with Yah's nature. Most of the time all the different words formed with that basis fit and add a layer of depth that just one won't.

Thanks a lot for the tips James, I'm sure I'll have some questions. I actually came on here to ask you for some tips on getting started but you were one step ahead.. On the logos website it seems that the dead sea scrolls program will be ready soon. Would that be better or just as good as getting the actual book? Thanks

The Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database has been Under Development for sometime at Logos, if you were to wait until it was done there is no telling how long you will have to wait. I have the hardback one and plan on getting the add in when it is finally released. You can get a soft-back copy for around $10 on Amazon, so I would recommend getting that now, and then getting the Logos add in when it comes out. Having the DSS database will be awesome if they ever release it. The book version is a translation, so not a transcript of the DSS, it is useful, but having the transcripts would be much better.

The ones I use most are:
Dictionary of Biblical Languages: Hebrew,
Brown–Driver–Briggs Hebrew Lexicon,
A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament,
Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon to the Old Testament,
NASB Dictionaries (I use this mostly for their transliterations, the definitions are simplistic ones.)
Exaustive Dictionary of Biblical Names
The Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible
The Hebrew Bibke: Andersen-Forbes
Theological Word Book of the Old Testament

At least those are the ones I always have opened.

I also use:
The Hebrew Bible: Anderson-Forbes Marker Analysis
The Gesenius' Hebrew-Grammer
Hebrew Syntax

For some of the tougher grammatical parts.

I've focused entirely on the Hebrew Scriptures. if you are interested in the Greek RC, then logos has a lot more tools from what i can tell, but you might ask Swalchy about the Greek stuff that is much more his department.

File Attachment(s):
The comandments.zip (21kb) downloaded 104 time(s).
