I have always been been a big music listener (prefer it to tv or movies)

Now that I don't have christian music, and even most of the Messianic music I've listened to had to go, I'm left with a void

I listen to new-age and classical because it is just instrumental without lyrics

I'm looking for some songs that I can sing along with that are Yahuweh focused and honoring, any recommendations?

best ones I know are...

Yahweh (Of all that I am) - by Shawn McDonald
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMmSnDUCKKw

Yesterday, Today And Forever - by Vicky Beeching
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uJrexjlKiw

Now I think Vicky's dosnt say Lord or Jebus once... also has Yahweh in it lol

Yahweh - by MorningStar. It's also pretty good, but they use "Jesus" and "lord" a lot in their other songs, but this one song I really like. But for bands that consistenly use the real Names I'm not sure, I'm not that big into music, so it doesn't bother me. I also like instrumental, jazz, and classical music.

"Take My Life" by Jeremy Camp.. the lyrics are pretty solid, but look them up so you can decide. The song rocks...
"When the rain comes" by third day
"shepherd" by todd agnew - awesome song
"still here waiting" by todd agnew
"wait for your rain" by todd agnew (unfortunately says "lord" once)
"sing to yahweh" by mason clover includes in the the lyrics "i'd trade my sorrow for a shofar call" :)
"signature of divine" by need to breathe.. says "holy", but other than that is solid
"restore to me" by mac powell & Candi Pearson-Shelton

Bridget, it's impossible for me to hear that traditional tune "Down in the river to pray" any more without it taking me back to one of the funniest movies ever made: "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?" Nothing spiritually redeeming about it, but a total hoot nevertheless.

Adding 'Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?' to my 'To See' list.

Although, I prefer to remember the days when I lived by the river and spent many hours there....in thought..or crying..or praying..or swimming..or running from water moccasins..lol......River was healing.
That's where the song takes me. :)

Here's a song recently mentioned on YY radio CR and show. Here's lyrics and guitar chords best as I can figure. Given time, I'll play it like bluegrass <joke>

Seems the above post removed spaces so chords are misaligned. Unfortunately this thread doesn't allow file attachment.

Here's the Lyrics:
Too Long in the Sun
Written by Kerry Alexander

Our fathers inherited futility
Falsehood error and iniquity
Blinding their children through the centuries
Now the veil is on our eyes

We think we’re worshiping the holy King
We think we’re told the truth about every thing
But Satan has a plan to make us turn and sing
Our praises unto Him

We’ve been too long in the sun
Now it’s burning every one
Our eyes are blind from gazing on
We’ve been too long in the sun

We worship Ba’al when we call upon “the Lord”
We love nimrod by the tree that we adorn
We decorate our eggs and the truth we eggnore
And we cling on to their lies.

We never left Egypt and her pagan ways
We reminisce of Babylon all our days
All the days of the week and their ‘Sun’ day
We thoughtlessly accept them all

We’ve been too long in the sun
Now it’s burning every one
Our eyes are blind from gazing on
We’ve been too long in the sun

Let the Rain fall down on you and me
Let the dirt-clods be covered by a raging sea
Let Torah truth take us all safely
To Messiah where we’ll be free

Let Him wash away tradition and all our lies
Wash away our guilt and our wicked ties
Give us what we need to open our eyes
Then the real Messiah we will see

We’ve been too long in the sun
Now it’s burning every one
Our eyes are blind from gazing on
We’ve been too long in the sun

I'll no longer be pushing or promoting anything or anyone that uses the NT. The, what they call the OT, "Covenant writings" are 39 books along with Yahowsha's revelation to us, gives me completeness. I'm done skiing. No more slippery slopes for me. I'v been too long in the son. See Yah!

It is enough to read and understand Scripture, Prophets and Psalms, come to a clear understanding of what we must do in this life, then to become somewhat/totally confused by writings of the "New Testament" (when we know there is not). A great call, Fred.
